SUSY string theories, gauge theories

We begin with a review of supersymmetry in four dimensions, including representations, superfields, non-renormalisation theorems, etc. In the second part we concentrate on exact results in supersymmetric gauge theories, such as electro-magnetic duality, monopole condensation, etc. We then move on to some recent progress in computing instanton effects using localisation techniques and matrix model calculations.
