The Cosmic Microwave Background - Cosmological Theory and Observation

Abstract

This set of lectures will provide a review of the basic theory of the
cosmic microwave background (CMB) including the physics of
temperature and polarization fluctuations, acoustic oscillations in
the ionized primordial plasma and the seeding of fluctuations by
inflation. We will also discuss the phenomenology of the CMB,
including how observations are used to constrain the cosmological
parameter space and current and potential constraints future from
experiments.
